The Calathea Rufibarba, often designated as the Furry Feather due to its elongated, olive-green foliage characterized by a unique velvety, hairy surface and rich purple undersides. 

The unique feature of the Calathea rufibarba is its phototropic behavior, whereby the leaves raise and lower in response to light exposure. In the morning, the leaves are elevated, resembling a posture of prayer, which contributes to its colloquial name. Throughout the day, the leaves lower gradually, exhibiting a smooth and elegant movement.

It is known for being low maintenance and does best in indirect sunlight and humid conditions, with a good amount of water. Water when the top layer of soil is dry to the touch.
